PokerRoom Review ... This is the first site I ever played at, mainly because I am mac based but PokerRoom.com is now my benchmark site to compare all others - and PokerRoom will take some beating - It really is the nuts.
A great all round site with IMHO the best graphics and playability in the market. The buttons are clear and very logical. The lobby is now slightly less so, as they have now jumbled the buy-ins and game types (probably in a effort to get players to try different games) but this is not problematic. There is no shortage of games at any time of the day - It's big enough without having the downsides of Party Poker - but play peak times to really find the fish.
It is the original mac friendly poker site with a no download playing option. The download version allows colour coding of shark and fish players - a simple but effective tool.
PokerRoom Bonus ... Straightforward 20% deposit match up to $100. Achievable bonus is released from earning Player Points based on the rake. There are regular re-load bonuses and long player bonuses too. 1st Deposit players also get a free ticket to the $2 Shark Cage real money beginner tournament. Regular re-load bonus.
Fish ... On the face of it not the fishiest site overall but the standard only starts to get tougher in the mid to higher limits, so plenty of opportunities at low limits where it is a bit more fishy - new players have added to this and it is a great room to play in as the dealing rate is higher than at other slower rooms. This combined with playing at peak times will maximise your winnings and fish.
Software ... The most playable and sleek in the market, Part of the Swedish OnGame network.
Players ... 37,000 Player volume is good, both in cash games and tournies. The fishy players seem to fall more into loose aggressive category rather than tight passive fish on other sites - think crazy swedes.
Games ... Good variety of poker games offered but as per most rooms Texas Holdem is most popular. The rake is now about standard after a couple of changes to the SnG's.
Promotions ... Royal Flush bonus - which I actually won about a year ago.
Tournaments ... Great variety of multi-table tournies at all times for UK & US player, Daily freerolls, Lucky Dollar and many more including some great WPT qualifiers and pro sponsorship for a year tournies.
